Governor Murphy announced today that private swim clubs can reopen on June 22nd. The NJ Dept of Health will release full guidance tomorrow relating to the procedures and protocols that will need to be followed. At that time, we will assess the guidelines and announce our plans. Please stay tuned.

Dear Families and Friends,
We hope everyone is safe and healthy. We know that the Covid-19 pandemic has effected everyone uniquely and it has been a trying time for all. This pandemic has impacted our swim club as well.
Typically, this time of year, board members and volunteers would be preparing the pools and grounds, contractors would be performing necessary work, inspections would be scheduled and/or completed, staff would be hired, the pools would be painted and filled, supplies would be ordered, swim team spring warmups would have been held, and memberships would have been purchased.
However, as you likely already know, we are closed under state order from the Governor until June 6th. The board has been monitoring the situation on a daily basis and has had many discussions and conference calls with other groups including the Cherry Hill Association of Pools (CHAP), Cherry Hill Mayor Susan Shin Angulo and Town Council, the NJ State Department of Health, many other swim clubs, and the Tri-County Swim league.
In recent days, Executive Orders from the Governor have been put in place allowing openings of other types of businesses. We anxiously await word from the state that swim clubs will be allowed to open, but we find ourselves to continue in a holding pattern.
Our swim club is owned by all of us; the members. Together, we all have a responsibility to ensure that the club remains financially stable. We have no other sources of income besides our membership dues and associated operating income. However, there are significant fixed expenses that the club faces on an annual cycle regardless of if we open or not. These are expenses like taxes, insurance, utilities, and general maintenance.
If the Governor allows us to open, we will immediately assess both what those orders require and our ability to comply with the orders in a way to keep everyone safe. We are actively creating a social distancing plan, and operational procedures to provide a prepared, safe facility for the summer.
In order to open as quickly as possible, we would need help from all of our members to prepare the club. Volunteers have been keeping the grass cut but there will be much more to do in order to open the facility and we will need support from every member.
The Board appreciates your patience and understanding. We are motivated to continue to provide the most valuable, summer experience to all members with personal safety as a primary consideration. Please reach out to any Board members if you have questions or concerns. We welcome your input.
We also ask that you complete this short survey so we can gauge interest and properly plan for a safe opening (PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR THE SURVEY). Please look for further updates as we anxiously await word from the state.
Sincerely,
Woodcrest Swim Club Board of Trustees
